As Eagle County Manager, Jeff Shroll has dedicated his career to solving community problems. However, in his personal life, Jeff faced challenges that were harder to address—his mental health. Growing up in a generation that discouraged expressing emotions, Jeff struggled with depression for many years, feeling isolated and lonely. Despite trying traditional treatments like therapy and medication, finding lasting relief remained elusive.
It wasn’t until his involvement as an Eagle Valley Behavioral Health Board member that Jeff learned about Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), an FDA-approved treatment option for people whose depression hasn’t responded to standard approaches. Through this non-invasive procedure, he noticed the cloud of depression gradually begin to lift.
Jeff experienced a prolonged period of happiness and motivation to make positive changes for the first time in years. This journey inspired Jeff to candidly share his story in this video to offer hope to others struggling with similar issues and encourage them that it’s never too late to find support.
“As I think of the future of mental health in our valley, I’m hopeful. It’s great to be a part of an organization that has been supporting that and will continue to do so in the future.”Jeff Shroll
