From labor to recovery, mothers and babies in our birth center enjoy a home-like setting with optimal family-centered care.

Vail Health’s Family Birth Center gives over 400 mothers and their babies premier obstetrics and neonatal care each year. In fact, Vail Health is recognized as one of America’s Best Hospitals for Obstetrics by the Women’s Choice Award.
Our benefactors’ heartfelt generosity allows mothers and babies at our Family Birth Center to stay in a relaxing, beautiful setting overlooking the gorgeous Vail mountains. Their entire stay is spent in one room – for labor, delivery and recovery. This “rooming in,” keeping your infant in the room with you until discharge, has shown to improve breastfeeding rates, sleep and parent-infant bonding.
With your support, our Level II Nursery staff can care for the tiniest patients. There is no need for parents to travel far from home for excellent care for their premature babies.
Our staff provides continuous contact and involvement with their families, newborns and support persons, post-delivery. Patients feel more secure and comfortable in a home-like setting, and therefore gain a greater sense of physical and emotional well-being.
I was grateful to have such high-level care close to home. The nurses in the Family Birth Center are amazing.
