Vail Health ICU Receives National Excellence Award

Vail Health’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has received the Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). This achievement places us among an elite group of facilities—only two other ICUs in Colorado hold Beacon status.

The Beacon Award for Excellence is a prestigious honor that recognizes units demonstrating high standards of care, teamwork, and leadership. The AACN evaluates factors including evidence-based practices, patient outcomes, and professional development, recognizing units that show sustained excellence and provide optimal patient care.
