Celebrating & Supporting Our Amazing Nurses

During Nurses Week, May 6 to 12, and every day, we share our appreciation of our amazing nurses and all that they do. We are grateful for the incredible care and compassion they provide to our patients.

One of the many ways Vail Health supports our nurses is through our Transition to Practice Program. Since 2019, thanks to generous benefactors, the program has provided new RN graduates with the focused support, on-the-job training, and mentoring they need to become long-term team members with us. The program goals include:

• Hire approximately 10 new graduates each year to participate in the program;
• Bridge gaps in the new graduates’ clinical skills, building their professional competence;
• Provide a support network for new graduates so they can learn from one another, and more.
