BrightHouse Marks Five Years of Safety, Advocacy, and Stability

In June, Bright Future Foundation (BFF) celebrated the fifth anniversary of BrightHouse. Since its opening, BrightHouse has provided 11,500 nights of safety to 195 individuals from 106 households, including 89 children. BrightHouse offers survivors a pathway toward stability through advocacy, housing support, and connection to critical resources.
“BrightHouse is more than a shelter. It is a place where survivors can breathe, heal, and begin to see a path forward,” said Sheri Mintz, CEO of BFF. “Five years later, we are deeply grateful to our staff, volunteers, partners, and community members who have helped make BrightHouse a source of safety and stability for so many families across Eagle County.”
By the Numbers
The impact of that support can be seen in the outcomes achieved by survivors who come to the shelter. Ninety percent of those who stay at BrightHouse move into safe housing after they leave, and 70% remain safely in the community. Ten percent enroll directly in BFF’s Rapid ReHousing Program, while 50% participate in other housing stabilization programs.
Beyond Emergency Shelter
Demand for these services has grown alongside BFF’s reach. Client utilization has risen 20% since 2021, and BFF has served 1,200 survivors throughout the community. One hundred volunteers have contributed 600 service hours, helping strengthen the network of support available to survivors and their families.
Behind every number is a story of resilience and a person taking steps toward a brighter future. One survivor shared this message after moving into a home of their own:
“I am so grateful for the support I received from you and everyone at the Bright Future Foundation. Please let the staff know how much I appreciate all the help. I feel so relieved now—having my own space is a huge step forward for me. The big, bright windows have truly become my therapy. Words can’t fully express how thankful I am for everything you’ve done. Thank you again.”
Community Support Makes a Difference
Vail Health Foundation and BFF are grateful to the many benefactors whose generosity made this milestone possible. Their support, together with the dedication of staff, volunteers, and community partners, has provided safety, advocacy, and stability for hundreds of survivors seeking a fresh start.
