Vail Health Named One of 381 Cleanest Hospitals

Fifteen fewer hospitals received a CMS 5-star rating for cleanliness in August compared to May data.

CMS’ Patient survey (HCAHPS)-Hospital database listed hospital ratings based on the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems surveys. This is a national, standardized survey of hospital patients about their experience during a recent inpatient hospital stay. The surveys were completed between Oct. 1, 2024, and Sept. 30, 2025. The data was updated Aug. 13.

In May, 396 hospitals were awarded five stars for cleanliness, and Texas had the most hospitals recognized for cleanliness with 36.

In August, 15 fewer hospitals had 5-star cleanliness ratings, and Wisconsin had the most hospitals recognized for cleanliness at 30.
