Healing Touch and Lifesaving Support at the Family Birth Center

The Vail Health Family Birth Center is enhancing the patient experience for both mothers and their newborns through a new Perinatal Massage Program and new monitors for neonatal resuscitation.

Supporting Postpartum Healing

Labor and delivery are physically demanding and emotionally intense. Thanks to philanthropy, the Perinatal Massage Program offers mothers access to specially trained massage therapists, who can help them recover more quickly, relax, and focus on their well-being. By easing pain, soreness, and fatigue, massage sessions provide new moms with a restorative moment to care for themselves.

Strengthening Newborn Resuscitation Care

With support from generous benefactors, Vail Health purchased two monitors for the Family Birth Center’s Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). These monitors enable care teams to closely monitor vital signs and respond swiftly in critical moments for newborns requiring full resuscitation, ensuring alignment with updated NRP guidelines.
