Vail Health Hospital Recognized with Pathway to Excellence Redesignation

Dear Vail Health Community,
I am honored to share with you that Vail Health Hospital has been recognized by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) with a Pathway to Excellence® redesignation. This global credential highlights Vail Health Hospital’s commitment to creating a healthy work environment where more than 200 nurses are empowered and valued. Vail Health Hospital received its first-ever Pathway to Excellence designation in 2021, and redesignation occurs every four years.
Vail Health Hospital joins a premier group of organizations as one of nine Colorado health care systems and one of 275 worldwide to earn the prestigious designation.
Vail Health Hospital achieved at least a 90% approval rate on 24 of the 28 measures and an amazing 95% or better on 15 of those measures. These responses are evidence that our teams truly believe that we “live” the high standards of this designation and are a testament to the dedication and leadership of our nursing teams.
I was so proud and excited for the initial designation in 2021, and this redesignation is something for us to be even more thrilled about, as maintaining a culture rooted in shared governance, professional development and a deep commitment to nursing excellence is a powerful achievement.

Congratulations to our nursing staff for their hard work and dedication. We remain committed to supporting the personal wellbeing of our nurses and ensuring our nursing staff has a voice in decision-making, prioritizing safety and quality of care, and facilitating personal growth, and this recognition validates this commitment.
I am grateful to work with this outstanding nursing team, and we should all be proud of the amazing reputation they have helped us maintain.
