Bravo! Vail and Vail Health Celebrate Music Education Month With Community Events Throughout October

The Bravo! Vail Music Festival (Bravo! Vail) is partnering with Vail Health to launch its second annual Music Education Month in October. The festival will offer free concerts and collaborative learning opportunities, including a special music workshop with Bravo! Vail Artistic Director Anne-Marie McDermott and cellist Maureen McDermott, a residency by the Lírios Quartet at the University of Colorado Boulder, interdisciplinary arts workshops, talks, and a film screening, and additional learning and performance opportunities for Bravo! Vail’s Music Makers Haciendo Música students.

The 2023 Music Education Month events include a Music Workshop with Anne-Marie and Maureen McDermott, a Vail Health & Bravo! Vail, Music & Art Appreciation, a Book Club-Mozart’s Starling, a Lobby Concert with the Lírios Quartet, a Community Concert with the Lírios Quartet, and a Documentary Screening of Alive Inside. These events aim to enhance Bravo! Vail’s extensive music education programming and provide new music experiences in the Valley, including interdisciplinary arts events.

Bravo! Vail’s 2023 Music Education Month events with Vail Health include:

Vail Health & Bravo! Vail, Music & Art Appreciation: On October 5 and 6 at 10 a.m. in Edwards Interfaith Chapel, Vail Health employees can participate in interactive music education activities led by Bravo! Vail educator Hannah Terrell. These sessions include creating unique art pieces while enjoying classical music. These events are open to Vail Health employees only.

Vail Health Lobby Concert with Lírios Quartet: On October 17 at 11 a.m., the Lírios Quartet, the Graduate String Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Colorado Boulder, will perform a concert in the lobby of Vail Health. This captivating performance is open to the public, and no reservations are required.

Bravo! Vail’s executive director, Caitlin Murray, expressed excitement about expanding its partnership with Vail Health and other local businesses, giving members of the community more ways to connect with Bravo! Vail through music.
