Letter: Thank You for All That You Did

Two weeks ago, my wife Barbara and I were on Vail Mountain hiking the Ridge Route to the Ptarmigan Loop, then on to one of our favorite picnic spots. My breathing was more labored than normal, stops more frequent, and then chest and arm pain set in on both sides. Time to turn back!
We decided to traverse back across Deuces Wild to the service road and were fortunate that a lift mechanic stopped, radioed Ski Patrol and I was soon on my way down the mountain and to the ER at Vail Health Hospital.
Mine was a mild heart attack, but due to the amazingly swift action of a lot of dedicated professionals, it stayed that way.
To the first responders, the hospital staff and doctors and to the lift tech — thank you so much! I am forever indebted!
